But never the less expect an update soon, sorry for slow updates again since it has been Christmas family comes first.

Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto
For some reason I really like 3D models or 3D sculpts of robots/mechas/cyborgs etc, its most likely because I love the sci-fi setting. But anyway, this was made for one of our projects during the 3D modelling section of my games design course, the project was to create a vehicle however a few people started creating robots and since I didn't really want to create a vehicle I also made a robot I started searching for some cool robot concepts I could work from and found this cool one on Google.
A nice simple robot, its a very nice bit of concept art I found its clear and I really enjoyed box modelling from it.
It took maybe two hours from start to finish taking into account I did it in college so I was talking to friends and that at the same time heres what I came up with :D
I also adapted the model when I made it, the concept shows the robot has a small wheel, however I didn't really want to create a wheel so I made a jet type thing so the robot could hover or float to places.
Heres another render showing the different sides of the bot.
Sorry the lighting is a bit off it hurt my laptop to even render that out so I couldn't line it all up correctly.
And finally heres the final render complete with some sexy indirect lighting causing the robots eyes to glow enjoy :D
I am very pleased with the final render :D
Now then thats it for this post, I think my next post will be christmas eve I guess because I am working at the weekend I wont have time to post then so see everyone christmas eve :D
Till next time.

Glass.....Again....
Hello there ;) welcome back.
You people that have been reading for awhile now may remember this render....
I posted it ages ago now and it was in titled my "Nailed" glass effect, and it was an effect that I worked long and hard on when I first started to try and get awesome looking glass, and I totally thought it was perfect that was until we did a glass assignment in college and I was in the mood to make my glass coloured, as I normally only create this plan glass you see above.
Heres where the problems started, I dug out my old glass effect file on my laptop and got to work remaking the effect however this time I wanted to add a splash of colour to the plain glass. I wasn't sure how to do so I played around with the basic colour settings but was slightly disappointed when I was treated to a glass material that looked like this...

I wasn't sure how to do so I played around with the basic colour settings but was slightly disappointed when I was treated to a glass material that looked like this...
For some reason the colour changed to the glow of the glass.... Safe to say I wasn't too pleased :L And I say glow but its not really a glow, its kind of the light shine on the glass but that's going off topic it wasn't what I wanted >.<
The annoying part is about to come....
It took me half an hour to get the effect I wanted.... All I had to do was change one setting under the transparency setting....
Turns out the filter setting controls colour, turning it up and down selects how much colour is let into the glass, after a small victory dance I rendered out the same scene but with the coloured glass effect and it looked pretty good :D
The other objects are things I am working on for a assignment in college, and on a side note I have tried long and hard but for some reason I just cant make those cups again, I have tried all sorts of modelling techniques but I just cant do it xD I have no clue why at all those cups weren't that hard to make anyway they are just made from circles, maybe its because they took me such little time to make the first time I didn't bother to remember how to do it :L
And time to end with some bad news.....
My laptop is finally one deaths door....
Now I know this is nothing new, I normally talk about how dead my laptop is but sadly now its impacting my 3D Art. Blender causes the laptop to lag big time even when its not doing anything hard in Blender, just moving the default cube around causes massive lag... :(
Of course this is a problem as I am having to do a lot of my 3D work on the colleges computers which me slower uploads :(
BUT!
Its not all bad news, for christmas I have asked for a brand new "Sexy" laptop which means I will be back and hopefully the nice new laptop will let me do things I could never do with this one :D

3D Modelling in College
Hello there you crazy cats ;), well the 3D Modelling part of my games course at college has finally started so expect to see more models coming up ^_^ note of course these models will not be included in my EPQ due to the nature of the EPQ not allowing other work done in other course on it but never the less it does give me more stuff to add it the page!

HDR/HDRI
Hello people of the internet, sorry for the late post, like I said before expect waits due to college work and everything else It sucks but it needs to be done, if only I could just do 3D modelling all the time :( well thats were Uni comes in ;)
Now then over the past few days I have been sorting out how to present the final project, its going to be a video created with all the best models I have created well on the EPQ, the models will be shown using a turntable animation "This where the model spins 360 degrees as if its on a turntable" this will allow people to see all of my models and each pass will be different, the first pass will be a clay render, the second a wireframe overlay, and finally the third the final textured render heres a example of one of the final passes, heres the Pumpkin model. Also forgive the quality Blogger seems to dull down the quality of videos unless they are on youtube.

Pumpkins part 2!
Hello people of the interwebs, sorry for the lateness of this post I have been busy with College work "That's the non EPQ stuff ;)" and sorting out University's because I will be applying very soon and its always good to be ahead.
Anyway at the end of the last post I talked about my Pumpkin model, which by the way I am still very pleased with after creating it I then decided to create a patch of pumpkins which wasn't to hard, the real problems came with trying to edit them, because as you may know from other posts I complain about my laptop a lot and this was another one of those situations I couldn't do too much as my laptop just wouldn't have it, all of the high quality models on the screen just made my laptop slow to crawl basically a snail stuck in tar would have moved faster than my laptop when it was processing all of those pumpkins!

Pumpkins and Patches
Hello people of the internet I return, sorry for late posts god dam college and such >.< but don't worry I have been doing a lot of 3D stuff I just haven't had time to post on here about it! But do not fear I am here with some 3D goodness.
Now as some of you may or may not know, Blender 2.64 released sometime last week and of course I have been having a play around with it, trying the new modifiers like the Skin modifier which allows you to create a fully rigged and modelled model quickly and easy.

Influences
Greetings everyone no new models this time around instead I have been asked by my EPQ teacher to explain a bit about my Influences and what has Influenced me to want to create 3D models and what I try and base mine off, I did cover this kind of before I even started creating 3D models right In my very first post but I didn't go into to much detail so now's the chance to expand on it a bit, oh and before I forget I have been meaning to mention someone in these posts for awhile now but have totally forgot my friend Calvin reads my posts and he is in my games development class in college and I said I will have a little shout out to him in blog so here it is....

Take us to your master!
Hello citizens of the world, back to on topic posts after we went a bit off topic last time with that Oddworld Book, however it was a good off topic and kind of important as it was to do with art and 3D art. Anyway I started getting some concepts together for what my final big model could be for my EPQ the model that I would rig up and try to animate which I would hand in along with all my other little models which I am now calling to keep the marker and my EPQ teacher happy "In game assets"

Things are getting a little....Odd
Hello everyone, no 3D stuff today but I did want to share with you a quick review of an art book I brought one I have been searching for since it was first printed back in 2004/2005 Its an art book about some of the best games I have ever played and one of the best game companies in existence safe to say their games defined my childhood...

Wretches and Kings
Hello there, back again with more lovely 3d goodness If anyone is wondering the title of today's blog is actually also the title of a very good Linkin Park song please go check it out its pretty awesome ^_^
Anyway onto the post I have created the next chess piece "The King" only issue is its not totally finished its missing the top getting around to adding that soon, been busy with college starting up again "sad face :(" even though it is missing the topper the base shape is there and it looks pretty good, but first an actual king piece just in case none knows :L
Imagine chocolate chess sets, the future??
Anyway need to stay on topic yes the king piece...
Doesn't look too bad, mine has a little bit of a rounded top but that's just because of the subdivisions and to be honest looks quite cool, like I said the topper hasn't been done yet as I will need to model it on its own like I did with the knights head and then attach it after, I will posted the completed one whenever I get around to modelling it up shouldn't take me that long or though it kinda small could be a problem.
Like I said before because college has started up again posts may come a little bit slower but not too much, I am planning a review in a few days time of an amazing game related book I got which is amazing, and a few other things as well heres a sneak peak of the book in the box try and guess what it is ;)
And also Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out soon so expect something on that because the 3d art in that game is amazing.

Smash!
Hello boys and girls, ladies and gents I am back with another new animation and shockingly this one didn't take +5 hours to render happy days :D
Simple Animations by Conor Scott is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.
Being obsessed with modelling glass things in blender since I made that bitchin glass effect which I am oh so proud off if you missed that check it out here ^_^ http://simpleanimations.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/glass-effects-nailed.html
And because I have started messing around with text on blender I thought why not do a text animation ? And why not have glass text ? :D so after a short brainstorming session I came up with a simple smashing glass text animation.
Above is a still from the animation as you can see it says simple animations e.g the title of this blog I thought it fit quite well, please hold the claps.
Now I have done two animations both of which I will post up so you lucky guys/gals and view them, the first one was the first one I made and the second one was a edited version with more glass particles and looks a little better, now both animations also play kinda fast at the start so its hard to view the title correctly before it smashes this may be fixed at a later date by slowing down the first frames however I am working on many things at the moment so bare with me :)
Video one: 700 particles
Video two: About 3700 particles give or take a few :3
So there we go please judge and hate accordantly xD anyway a quick news update I start college again Monday and I have an EPQ meeting then so I will have to present all the stuff I have done over the holidays so that's all the models and stuff so they can judge if its all ok including this blog, I have got ages till this EPQ is finished so I will keep posting new stuff for ages ;) don't you lot worry however I am thinking what to do with it when I am finshed with the EPQ chances are I will keep it and keep posting because hey thats what I do...
Take it easy.
Till next time.

Water Simulation
Water is the driving force of all nature.Hello everyone back once again, at the bottom of my last post I put a frame from my latest animation and I am please to say that the animation was a success :D it took about +5 hours render time and totals at 250 frames which = about 10 secs long, never again will I do a water simulation on this old laptop, next time I do one I will have a much better laptop which will hopefully cut that render time in half, so here is the lovely animation and it does actually look pretty sweet. This is all I got time for today as I have been trying out a few other things in blender like cycles and that, sadly cycles is another thing which doesn't work very well on this old thing why that is I will explain sometime in the week in a post intitled "Cycles vs Normal renders"
- Leonardo da Vinci
Enjoy....

Knights and Knifes....
Hello everyone, I am back with more 3D goodness over the past 3 days I think I have been starting a load of new 3D projects which I will show you guys/gals over the next few weeks but first I promised to show you the finished Knight model, I only took one render of it but put it in a dramatic way it does look pretty cool and because of its angle you cant see all the errors I made when making it e.g the slight warping around the neck of horse because of the sub division modifier on triangles, I did convert most tris to quads before I sub divided it but sadly there was still some warping.
The head its self wasn't to hard to make, I used a new skill to make it which I then used to make another model with I will show of later, I may also go into detail another time about this new technique because its very very useful and very easy to do.
Now then the final render....
Well I think I did a good job of positioning it looks pretty sweet the direction the light is coming from so it casts the shadow in the opposite direction it looks epic and I think it turned out all right, truth be told I was pretty worried when I started making this because I modelled the outline but couldn't get it to fill, NOTE TO ANYONE OUT THERE USING BLENDER AFTER USING THE F KEY TO TRY AND FILL THE WHOLE OUTLINE AND IT NOT WORKING I FOUND OUT YOU NEED TO USE ALT-F INSTEAD IF THERE ARE MORE THAN 4 VERTEX'S.
Use the above help advice if you get stuck it took me too long to find that out -_- look at me helping you lot out and saving you guys/gals time ^_^
And now time for the next model I made using the same technique i used to create the horse head for the knight piece, this model is actually an item from an anime a friend of mine turned me onto to called "Darker than Black" and he recently brought a replica coat that the main character of the series wears and the main character also has these two knifes which looks pretty sweet, and I joking said to my friend I would try and create a model of the knifes but couldn't do it, one because I was crap and two because I had no idea, then after I made the horses head it hit me, so heres a picture of the main character with one of the knifes in his hand have a lookie.
So that's the knife in his hand and this is my render of that knife.
Till next time.

So that's the knife in his hand and this is my render of that knife.
Slightly bigger....
Now it is only a test model Its missing textures and there's meant to be a hole in the middle as well but all in good time, for a base clay model I think i made a good job of it :D
And before I go heres a still yes you heard that right "STILL" from an animation I am making, hopefully if it renders right I will have it ready for next time enjoy....
But what's it doing...... |

This night is a dark knight.....
Hello everyone, ^_^ as promised I am back finally settling in with life again been busy with unpacking and getting results so I haven't had much time to do 3d modelling but tonight I finally sat down and started my new model the knight chess piece forgive the title I was trying to think of something snappy but that's the best I could do :)
And thinking of it now I will need to hunt down that marble effect I did for my Pawn piece to use again, that may actually hide the scaring effect on my bishop model.
Anyway I need to make this one in two parts the main base and the actual horse part I then need to join up the two pieces when I am done with them, why is this I hear you scream ? surely its just a waste of time, and I say yea it most likely is xD but there is method to my madness, I am thinking it would be hard to scale up the head well its already attached to the base, I already did this technique when I created my human model with his fingers.
Heres some screens of the finished base I have yet to start the head but that will come soon expect that in a update sometime next week and or the weekend.

Don't expect it to have that much detail on it, still a noob remember >.<

Another feature I am making use of now is the two screen feature blender lets you create multiple screens that allow you to work at different angles I find its very useful if I am working from a source image like this one as I am modelling it 2d and I only have to look right and see it in 3d very helpful.
Little test render of the base.

As the song suggested yes I am back ! "Sorry I couldn't resist not using that song :P"
I have returned from the land known as Greece fully rested and relaxed, ready to jump back into this modelling business, ummm an update will come shortly maybe sometime in the week I am still getting my barrings and sorting out stuff and meeting up with friends since I have been away for 2 weeks with a lack of contact with anyone, "Oooo that greek wifi >.<"
I also wish to say thank you again since I thought because I wasnt gonna be posting anything for 2 weeks my view count would drop to a 0 however it kept rising and know its up to about 380 + which is pretty sick so thanks everyone, once again please follow if you like what you see ;), I should most likely do some kind of video soon to thank everyone, that would be nice right see I do treat you guys/gals well don't i ? :D

Bishops, Bishops everywhere....
Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your time on this small corner of the internet :D, I come to you with new models and stuff, as you guys/girls are aware I am currently making a chess board with a full set of pieces well I learn how to rig better since its not easy -_-, but anyway I have already created the Pawn piece as you lot saw last post the finished model and a lovely marble texture after finishing that saucy model I set about doing the next piece the humble Bishop...
The base of the model, the main shape etc wasn't too much trouble the base was the same as the pawns base as well as the neck the different was the collar near the base of the top was where it started getting a little annoying.

I knew this was gonna be harder than the pawn.... |
The second big problem was the cut, as you can see the Bishop piece has a slit in the top, not actually sure why you chess buffs out there may know please leave a comment with le answer, now it was very hard to do this slit very hard indeed i finally found a way to do it but was left with a bit of a problem.
This was the problem that I was greeted with....
Looked good until I zoomed in on the slit its self.... |
The cut had left almost a scar across the slit its self which when renders made it look pretty dam ugly, and sadly so far I haven't been able to fix this well, I did do a fix which got rid of the scaring but left me with another issue....
Bit of a bad render because its not that close and hard to see. "Took the render quickly and without a mouse so it was kinda hard to control the camera" As you can see the scaring around the slit is gone YAY!! however this fix also removed all the detail of the model so now its pretty undetailed and low poly, useful for a low game feature, not useful for when its on its own and people are viewing it and.... judging it :( hopefully soon I will have a fix which will get rid of the scaring but allow the model to keep its detail if not then the shape is gonna have to be scared.
Till next time.
