Our final renders needed to be pretty big, and contain quite a few models this was to show everything we had learnt during our time on the unit
we were told we could do anything as long as it was big, contained more than 10 models and reflected 10 hours of work.
Of course this was a bad thing for me as I had 5000 different ideas of what I would like to do for this big scene, the first idea that popped into my head was.... City make a futuristic city type scene with lots of buildings very cyber-punkish, the idea for this came from watching the new film "Dredd" (Which by the way is amazing, I urge anyone who is a fan of the comic's to go out and buy the film)
I wanted to recreate Mega City 1 in the style the new Dredd film had portrayed it in.
See above Mega City 1 from the new film, I just loved how it looked it was down so well, of course after studying the image I decided with my current skill set it would be pretty hard to do and we only had a week and a bit on the model so I decided to change it up and re think what I wanted to do.
After some more searching I came across many inside room renders that other 3D artists had made and they looked pretty good and very realistic, and with my current work and study into the cycles engine it seemed like a perfect time to work on my realistic skills.
However I still didn't know what kind of room I wanted to do, and it was only till I had a conversation with my cousin well I was out having a meal with my family after chatting with him about my model I needed to make he gave me the idea of making a dining room with a focus on the dining table. "Safe to say I loved the idea ;)"
So I started out modelling this dining table and I will start by showing the first thing I modelling onto the table its the most important and to be honest I am very pleased how they came out ;) its the table legs!!!
They were also pretty easy to model and I was so pleased how they came out, I was thinking of maybe modelling some more and uploading them to blendswap so if people ever needed any table legs they could just download my blend and pick which one they wanted to use :D
I then started to apply some more models to the table such as a plate and basic curtly and the scene started to take shape.
When I was happy with all the materials applied I started making the harder elements such as the table cloth, ice bucket and ice cubes for the bucket.
I shall finish this post of tomorrow in dinner for two part two ;) as its too late and I am writing this at 11 minutes past 2 in the morning and I need sleep haha.
Till next time.
I've figured out why your laptop's screen bulb blew. It wanted to hide the shame from the cutlery setup. Surely there should be knives rather than spoons on the right side.
