Influences

Greetings everyone no new models this time around instead I have been asked by my EPQ teacher to explain a bit about my Influences and what has Influenced me to want to create 3D models and what I try and base mine off, I did cover this kind of before I even started creating 3D models right In my very first post but I didn't go into to much detail so now's the chance to expand on it a bit, oh and before I forget I have been meaning to mention someone in these posts for awhile now but have totally forgot my friend Calvin reads my posts and he is in my games development class in college and I said I will have a little shout out to him in blog so here it is....

Take us to your master!

Hello citizens of the world, back to on topic posts after we went a bit off topic last time with that Oddworld Book, however it was a good off topic and kind of important as it was to do with art and 3D art. Anyway I started getting some concepts together for what my final big model could be for my EPQ the model that I would rig up and try to animate which I would hand in along with all my other little models which I am now calling to keep the marker and my EPQ teacher happy "In game assets"

Things are getting a little....Odd

Hello everyone, no 3D stuff today but I did want to share with you a quick review of an art book I brought one I have been searching for since it was first printed back in 2004/2005 Its an art book about some of the best games I have ever played and one of the best game companies in existence safe to say their games defined my childhood...

Wretches and Kings

Hello there, back again with more lovely 3d goodness If anyone is wondering the title of today's blog is actually also the title of a very good Linkin Park song please go check it out its pretty awesome ^_^
Anyway onto the post I have created the next chess piece "The King" only issue is its not totally finished its missing the top getting around to adding that soon, been busy with college starting up again "sad face :(" even though it is missing the topper the base shape is there and it looks pretty good, but first an actual king piece just in case none knows :L

The finest white chocolate.... I kid XD
Imagine chocolate chess sets, the future??
Anyway need to stay on topic yes the king piece...

Doesn't look too bad, mine has a little bit of a rounded top but that's just because of the subdivisions and to be honest looks quite cool, like I said the topper hasn't been done yet as I will need to model it on its own like I did with the knights head and then attach it after, I will posted the completed one whenever I get around to modelling it up shouldn't take me that long or though it kinda small could be a problem.

Like I said before because college has started up again posts may come a little bit slower but not too much, I am planning a review in a few days time of an amazing game related book I got which is amazing, and a few other things as well heres a sneak peak of the book in the box try and guess what it is ;)

<3
And also Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out soon so expect something on that because the 3d art in that game is amazing.

Now before I go, go over to my good friends blog and demand he makes his blog posts longer!!!  http://gamedevandprocrastination.blogspot.co.uk/ good name right ;)

Till next time.

Smash!

Hello boys and girls, ladies and gents I am back with another new animation and shockingly this one didn't take +5 hours to render happy days :D
Being obsessed with modelling glass things in blender since I made that bitchin glass effect which I am oh so proud off if you missed that check it out here ^_^ http://simpleanimations.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/glass-effects-nailed.html

And because I have started messing around with text on blender I thought why not do a text animation ? And why not have glass text ? :D so after a short brainstorming session I came up with a simple smashing glass text animation.

Above is a still from the animation as you can see it says simple animations e.g the title of this blog I thought it fit quite well, please hold the claps.
Now I have done two animations both of which I will post up so you lucky guys/gals and view them, the first one was the first one I made and the second one was a edited version with more glass particles and looks a little better, now both animations also play kinda fast at the start so its hard to view the title correctly before it smashes this may be fixed at a later date by slowing down the first frames however I am working on many things at the moment so bare with me :)

Video one: 700 particles

Video two: About 3700 particles give or take a few :3

So there we go please judge and hate accordantly xD anyway a quick news update I start college again Monday and I have an EPQ meeting then so I will have to present all the stuff I have done over the holidays so that's all the models and stuff so they can judge if its all ok including this blog, I have got ages till this EPQ is finished so I will keep posting new stuff for ages ;) don't you lot worry however I am thinking what to do with it when I am finshed with the EPQ chances are I will keep it and keep posting because hey thats what I do...

Take it easy.

Till next time.

Water Simulation

Water is the driving force of all nature.
 - Leonardo da Vinci
Hello everyone back once again, at the bottom of my last post I put a frame from my latest animation and I am please to say that the animation was a success :D it took about +5 hours render time and totals at 250 frames which = about 10 secs long, never again will I do a water simulation on this old laptop, next time I do one I will have a much better laptop which will hopefully cut that render time in half, so here is the lovely animation and it does actually look pretty sweet. This is all I got time for today as I have been trying out a few other things in blender like cycles and that, sadly cycles is another thing which doesn't work very well on this old thing why that is I will explain sometime in the week in a post intitled "Cycles vs Normal renders"

Enjoy....

Till next time...
