Hello fellow peers of the internet, for todays post I am gonna kinda outline my plan for the summer, now I started this blog last summer and learnt 3D modelling as you all know if you have been following me that long. Well it came to me a few weeks ago what am I gonna do this summer, now I have a job now go me! so there's that, also I will be hanging out with friends but after all that I need something to learn just like last year so heres my kinda outline for my summer learning.
1. "3D" Obvious I know but I will be hitting 3D hard over the summer to improve my skills even more, not long ago I ordered this saucy book after reading a review of it on good old CG Cookie.
They said it was very well written and after looking at reviews of it people have commented on how good it is a teaching things, its been sat on my side for quite sometime now so I can't wait to start working through it. And hopefully it will improve my Blender skills tenfold! And hopefully my texturing skills as I am pretty bad at textures!
Heres a link if any of you want to get it. It is classed as being a intermediate book however after having a quick flick through I noticed the author does touch the basics of blender at the start.

2. "Traditional Art" After the holidays I plan on going back to college for one more year to study Traditional Art before I apply to University as this will strengthen my portfolio and allow me to work on skills which will complement my 3D ones well. So over the summer I will also be sketching a lot in prep for college when I go back I will hopefully be doing Graphic Design, Photography "Which I will touch on next" Art history and Life drawing lovely lovely Life drawing.
3. "Photography" I touched on it above but I will also be studying Photography for a year now why is this I hear you cry people? Well... When I had my interview at Hertfordshire Uni one of the course leaders asked if I had any Photography to show which sadly I didn't some Universities actually like to see these skills alongside your other art skills as Photography teaches you to have a keen eye and a good sense of perspective. So I am most likely gonna get a nice Camera over the summer and practice with it so I know how to use it when I get back and start the course as I didn't do GCSE Photography.
Those are the 3 main things I am gonna try to work at over the summer :D so look forward to main posts about them!
Till next time
